Kahoot is a fun and exciting way to give a quick assessment, survey or discussion. All of the students can participate at the same time on any device. This program is competitive and you can set a time for how long each student can work on each problem. It also allows the teacher to identify what students know and what students need to improve on. Kahoot is convenient because students can play at home or by themselves to beat their scores. This program will allow students to play with other classes around the world!
After teaching a lesson on facts and opinions, I had my students work independently to complete the Kahoot challenge. I had 21 students participate in the Kahoot game at once. They had their own laptop and raced to answer the questions correctly. During the game I was able to see the number of students who were answering the questions correctly and incorrectly. At the end, I was able to download a spreadsheet with the results. Which shown a percentage for the total correct answers (76%) and the total incorrect answers (23%). During black history month, I taught students about the many different african american inventors. After the students learned about each inventor, I decided to test their knowledge with a kahoot game. Out of the 24 players, the total correct answers were 45% and the incorrect answers were 54%. After analyzing this data, I was able to go back and teach students more information about the African American inventors who they did not know much information about. |
